【Sapporo English Reading Club】

Sapporo English Reading Club is for studying English conversation and will meet every Friday night at 8:00 pm via ZOOM. The conversation will basically be in English only.

Anyone who wants to practice their English (except for those who are there for the purpose of accosting or marketing) can participate. Please respect each other's speech when participating in this event.

This club was initiated by two native Mandarin-speaking Chinese female international students with the goal of learning English, not teaching.

 【About the books to read】

In principle, the assigned books will be decided by the participants. Each original English book will be discussed in several sessions. The chapter(s) to be read each time will be decided by the organizers, and participants must read that part before the reading session.

  【Notice】

1. Because we will discuss the contents of the book in our reading club, what is written above must be read. But if you want to read more, you can choose which part you want to read at your own pace.
2. This club is free to attend, please cancel your reservation if you are unable to participate in.
3. In principle, the Reading Club will be held every Friday, but in case the organizer is unable to hold the event, we will suspend or change the time.

  【The reason we started this reading club】

Amber: I feel it is difficult to express myself completely in English. Is there any way to improve my English?

Cody: I also have the same feeling. I’m afraid to speak English with native speakers. How about starting an English reading club?

Amber: That’s a good idea! Let’s do it!
