時事問題について英語で議論する恒例 Discussion Session です。今回の話題はこちらです。

“Birth rate in Japan is plummeting. It is part of a world trend .“

Japan is teetering on the brink of social dysfunction as the birth rate in Japan is shrinking. The Japanese government makes it the top priority to offer child-rearing support to young couples to maintain social function.

The point that we can discuss is as follows;

1) Why the young Japanese couple do not have a baby

2) The number of marriages in Japan has decreased recently. Why ???

3) What is the “Ikigai” purpose in life ???

4) Is the government taking the measure to tackle this problem now. If so, is it enough to support the family?

5) Do we accept more migrants from other countries to compensate for the deficiency of the Japanese labor force?
