Sapporo English Reading Club

Sapporo English Reading Club is for studying English conversation and will meet every Friday night at 8:00 pm via ZOOM. The conversation will basically be in English only.

Anyone who wants to practice their English (except for those who are there for the purpose of accosting or marketing) can participate. Please respect each other's speech when participating in this event.

This club was initiated by two native Mandarin-speaking Chinese female international students with the goal of learning English, not teaching.

【About the books to read】

In principle, the assigned books for each course (except the first course) will be decided by the participants. Each original English book will be discussed in several sessions. The chapter(s) to be read each time will be decided by the organizers, and participants must read that part before the reading session.

【Procedure】

1. Self-introduction
2. Sharing any thoughts on the reading
3. Discussion

-Reading your favorite paragraph and the reason (the first part of discussion)

-Free discussion

4. Book recommendation (not every week)
5. Free talk (you can decide to attend or not; Japanese is OK)
